This is great. People are going to see this thread and have to dig through 3 pages just to find out what it's about I would have been in bed an hour ago if it wasn't for this thread

Is it going to affect me?

That's the real question on everyones mind.

If so, I would like to know what and how.

If not, then I don't care. I got more important things to do.

One more thing....as far as recruiting off this board..you told everyone you were back into the game when you came back from the other job, so why wouldn't you? I would, if I was you. Cash is cash.

And everyone would be crazy to think that you wouldn't.

And some of us are still waiting for my t-shirt and cap.

I dont think CB realizes how much recruiters actually make.

I will say this about JB Hunt recruiting because I no longer work there. If you ever drive down 540 in NW arkansas and pass the JB hunt building look over at the size of it and know that there are very few people in that huge building that make more than the recruiters in there. It is potentially the highest paid job at JB hunt corporate. Just the VPs and upper management usually make more. My last year there the top JB recruiter made 345K ( it wasnt me...not even close....I was about 18th out of 120) I left there because I knew I could make even more money than I was.
Thats personally what I love about recruiting. Im free to make as much as I want. Commissioned income is the only way to go

Dont believe JB would give a recruiter 345k for one year.    There's plenty of washed out JB recruiters on other boards who claims they dont make chicken feed. Dont go pumping something up that isn't true.

Recruiters are commissioned based employees. Their income isnt limited.
The big wigs at JB or any other corporation with commissioned employees WANT HIGH PAID EMPLOYEES. Of course they would be happy to pay the top recruiter that much...HE DID THE WORK.

At JB you are paid a 30K base plus commission. And yes, quite a few people fail at it. A lot of people get into it because they think its an easy job, then they find out how hard it is and quit. Basically at JB if you arent making at least about 52K a year, you will be fired.
A pretty funny story about how hard it is. My father is a retired executive VP of Merrill Lynch and also a Harvard MBA. Not too long ago he got bored with retirement and wanted to go back to work. So I got him on recruiting. After about 4 months, he decided it was the hardest job he ever did and quit....lol
I dont deny that their are probably ex jb recruiters on message boards whining about how bad it was. People who fail at jobs usually blame the company. But what I said is true, the top recruiter made 345K....a pretty high % make 6 figures easy and the rest make 52K-99k plus.

I'll play.

Let's see...two 600+ outfits have gone out this week. One major training company is cutting back on training, possibly to zero. Another major flatbed company is teetering on the brink and may be gone by the end of the week. One of the big boys is being actively marketed, but no one wants to buy...in the meantime, they've reduced their truck speed and have completely shut down all new hiring, as well as announced that no one will be deadheaded home more than 50 miles. In addition, another large company and likely more than one, is eliminating their pet programs to cut down on idling.

Am I close? I know the names of all the companies listed above, by the way.

Lot of big stuff going on right now...the next 30 days are going to very interesting. Those that survive stand to do well in growth and rates are going to shoot back up. Why? Because those trucking companies that were doing their cheap freight are no longer around to do it and the survivors will set some nice new contract rates because of it.

Survivors will stablize, profit, and grow, and then a whole new batch of lease purchase operators will be borne in order to start the downward trend once again.

It's a self purging industry...the purge is going on fast and hard right now. When the dust settles, outside recruiting firms and commission based recruiters are going to make a killing. Almost sad to be on salary myself.

And the cycle rolls on.
