I'm not defending SD as I probably wouldn't have jumped the gun myself, but at the time he posted it, there was no reason to believe it wasn't going to happen as originally indicated.
figured "IT" was about swift, and counting the number of swift trucks, not visible on the road it was obvious, however, what i was digging for was the "jist" or rather, the "content" of the announcement that never happened... yet.

besides, anthing that ups the post count... cant be all that bad..
they're getting rid of a ton of drivers who are either lacking in common sense, are constant screw-ups, idle-holics who ignore the policy in place about idling, and the such. as for the lack of swift trucks, come to the west coast, pacific northwest, southwest, and rockies. you'll still see quite a few of them. i remember back in september, for an entire week i was being routed on the back roads in the midwest. i didn't see a single big company truck during that whole time. i was the only one. all i saw were either bull haulers, small company drivers, and other owner-operators. all i could think to myself is, "what in the fuck is going on here?" when i finally got around to i-29, i began seeing all of "them" once again.

Not true they would have a few hundred drivers left and possibly 10 or so mentors left . I think the big news is that Swift/Werner are now going offer a driver exchange program with Mexico like the student exchange program in high school .
