FIRST DAY WAS OREINTATION.... 8 GRUELING HOURS OF HORRIBLE VIDEOS AND TYPICAL BULLSHIT ABOUT STUFF U ALREADY KNOW... 8 HOURS PAID 200.00 WEEKEND OFF STARTED ON THE MONDAY...... THIS PFG DEALS STRICTLY WITH TGI FRIDAYS.... THATS THERE ONLY ACCOUNT.... BOUT 25 TRUCKS 30 TRAILERS... ALL FREIGHTLINERS LEASED FROM RYDER. HOPEFULLY THERE DUE FOR NEW ONES SOON BECAUSE THERE STARTING TO SHOW THERE AGE. THEY GO 70MPH (VERY SLOWLY)10 SPEED. A FEW DAYCABS MOSTLY SLEEPERS. 2 WEEKS TRAINING.... NO MATTER HOW MUCH EXP U HAVE..YOU GO ON THE TRAINING ROUTE WHICH IS ALL LOCAL DOWN THE JERSEY SHORE AND INTO DELEWARE...... YOU WORK MONDAY TUESDAY/// OFF WENSDAY... BACK IN FOR THRUS AND FRIDAY... OFF WEEKEND....... THE TRAINING WAS MONDAY AND THURSDAY IN AT 5AM BACK BY 2PM GO HOME.... TUES AND FRI DAY WAS IN AT 2AM HOME BY 2AM GO HOME...... I PASSED THRU THE TRAINING AFTER THE 1ST WEEK AND MADE NORMAL PAY THE SECOND WEEK. TRAINING PAY IS 800 A WEEK... AFTER U PASS TRAINING U GET A BONUS 800..... NOW I WILL BASICALLY BOUNCE AROUND FROM ROUTE TO ROUTE WHEREEVER THEY NEED ME... NOT TO THRILLED BOUT THAT.. TRUCKS ARE PRELOADED IN THE MORNING, GRAB YOUR PAPERS INSPECT TRUCK AND HEADOUT.... THERE BIG ON BEING ON TIME..... ITS A TEAM OPERATION... THEY RUN ANYWHERE FROM VA TO MAINE AND WEST AS PITTSBURGH. IF U LIVE CLOSE TO THE TERMINAL U GO HOME EVERYDAY... I LIVE 45 MINS AWAY SO IF WE GET HOME LATE SAY 7PM AND WE HAVE A DISPATCH AT 1AM FOR THE NEXT RUN I SLEEP IN TRUCK... IF I GET BACK EARLY ILL SHOOT HOME AND SLEEP..... DOSENT SOUND TO BAD EY? SOLO IS DIFF BUT TO BE A SOLO DRIVER U NEED TO WORK THERE 25 YEARS LIKE SOME OF THE GUYS HAVE BEEN AND GET A BID ON A SOLO RUN... NEW GUYS GET THE SHITTEST RUNS...... 54 CPM SPLIT...... 12 CENTS PER PEICE 12.50 PER DISPATCH 5.00 PER STOP 40.00 PER BACKHAUL 20.00 PR HOUR AFTER DELAY OR BREAKDOWN 20.00 PR HOUR FOR MEETINGS..... ROUTES VARY BUT PAY IS SIMILAR ON ALL OF THEM.... MILES 1000-2400 A WEEK STOPS 4-6 A DAY PEICES 800-1400 A DAY 4 DISPATCHS PER WEEK. AVG PAY IS 900-1300 A WEEK.. YOUR WORKING FOR EVERY PENNY OF IT THO. YOU DO GET A FREE BURGER THO AT SOME STOPS. BENEFITS ARE GOOD, AND THERE ARE SAFTEY BONUS.. AND A 15.00 PER YEAR SENIORITY BONUS... THERES GUYS WHO HAVE BEEN THERE 25 YEARS WHO ARE MAKING 500.00 A WEEK BEFORE STEPPING FOOT INTO THE BUILDING. IM NOT USED TO WORKING TEAMS AND BEING INNA TRUCK WITH SOMEONE. I DONT KNOW HOW LONG I WILL BE HERE. THE LABOR IS TOUGH ON YOUR BODY,EVEN WITH THE 4 DAY SCHEDULE.(NO WAY AM I LAZY, BUT THERES OTHER WORK FOR SAME PAYSCALE FOR DROP N HOOK) THATS MY LIL RUNDOWN... IM SURE ALL PFGS ARE SIMILAR.

You will either like foodservice or hate it. I been doing it five years and like it, but then again I'm crazy :P . Give it time and see what happens. Driving teams like you do takes time to get use to. I do the same but for a different company, one customer(Papa John's) two drivers in a truck, three routes a week going to VA(just west of DC), Baltimore, and south of Columbus,OH(we service all of OH, All of Western PA(as far east as Bloomsburg, PA), most of MD,Va,Parts of WV and all of MI), longest for me being 19.75/hrs. Money and benifits are excellent but you do work for them, especially being the neww guy, the longer you are there, the easier it gets.
