Default Whats the real deal about newbie companys?

I know this has been talked about a hundred times and I know there is up and downs with all of them but what is a decent company to go with(pay, ttraining time, equipment etc.....)? I thought about going with Schneider but they said they are not hiring in my zip code but they have career fairs about 45 minutes down the road from me in Dallas :? :? :?

I like sni. I used to work there, quit to do dump trucks for a few years, now with swift. Been treated well at swift, but still miss sni. Kind of like a old girlfriend. Talked with them today and they will bring me back with dedicated walmart.

Just take your pick. All in all they're about the same. You'll do team driving with a "trainer" for about 8 weeks then test out and be assigned your own truck.

If you don't want to train for that long a period give Watkins-Shepherd a call. I belive its 4 weeks then they cut you loose.

However, if you're married or have children I'd stay away from OTR altogether.

It is against company policy for a trainer to run a team logbook with a trainee. If he is caught he WILL 100% be fired. You will not do ANY team driving with Schneider when you are out with your trainer. You will run a 99.999% legal logbook because both the trainer and the trainees logbook will be checked by someone who is "Schneiderized" when you return . Schneider does everything by FMCR and company policy and if you don't follow them you will be out of a job. They are not scared to fire people 8)
