Default CFI/Conway updates.....

So its been a little while since I have read any new updates on how things are going at CFI/ Conway Truckload.Just curious, I just barely chose going to Barr Nunn over CFI when I left Falcon so I am just curious to how the change is coming along in case I make a change.

I have seen "Conway" on the doors of the red trucks the last 2 weeks, instead of "CFI". That was on the sleepers.

I read an article in a magazine recently that said tehy will be phaisng out the red trucks as they do trade ins, they are going with the Conway color scheme. I am curious how the operations have or havent changed.

Default Yeah

A couple months ago a owner operator for Conway forgot he had doubles and came over and took out my drivers side steps tank and other stuff. He even got pissed at me for not letting him over. (Not too sure how I could have done that when I was in that lane except to somehow magically blink my eyes and gotten in the breakdown lanes)
He was cited by the cops I think for being stupid.

A Conway owner-op pulling doubles? That's a new one.

Well he was an owner op and he was pulling con way pups. I think he was from CFI and apologize for the confusion. Also if he had been from Con way and was used to pulling doubles he may have not forgotten and came over and hit me. I will see if I still have the pics from the accident.

One of the reasons Conway bought CFI...so they could farm-out line-haul runs. Why pay a man .56 cpm when the shiney wheels will do it for .38? But this may well backfire on them when alot of these guys end up in the ditch...can't drive like an outlaw pulling wiggle-wagons. You need to slow down and be patient...increase your following distance...slow/gradual lane-changes, etc. Different sort of animal and takes some getting used to.

The next CFI truck I see pulling doubles will be the first. We don't pull doubles. It's really that simple.

CTL doesn't even have enough trucks to sunset all of the existing contracts with other OTR carriers. And the .56 guy wouldn't be the one to get bumped. The on-call guy would. Oh hell, I forgot. This is another ideological issue isn't it? Yep, we're starving and working 100 hours a week... blah, blah, blah.
