Default JB Hunt lease

I've been off work for about 4 months, so i'm ready to go back, and been checking all my options, is it me, or does jb have a recruitment blitz going on for lease operators, 3 month trial, no obligation, anyone familiar with this type program.

Driver I hope you are ready to live on the road. I tried this lease at JB. Not exactly my smartest Move. but not my dumbest either. The first month they ran me very hard and was doing well. Then the bottom fell out and so did the pay. I never refused a load always ran hard and I stayed out for long periods of time. If I could have gotten the miles It may have worked but who knows. Maybe youll have more luck than I.

that's a coincidence because I was told only thing open was lease program also, must be a big push to fill their trucks, has to be a reason for the big push on the lease program, maybe they want to get rid of their old fleet to update?

Freight is slow, so why hire company drivers who are just going to burn up your fuel when you can hire O/O's and L/P's. If they sit who cares. The company is not losing any money.

First, I'm not going to slam JB Hunt.

Getting into a lease program with any company would be a mistake during the slow time of the year. If your dead set on getting into a lease program, you might want to wait until May, when the freight picks up.

You also might want to consider just buying a truck instead of leasing. Many dealers are having a hard time moving the used trucks because of the price of fuel scaring off new owners. I would check into this before leasing.

You might want to also try local work. Looks like you have some experience...I would give it a try.

Good luck.

Hey appreciate all the info, I was just considering all my options, I used to work for JB for 6mo., in 04, as co. driver, never really had any issues except I always felt a little vulnerable, and it was hard to get home, so I left while in good standings, heard to many horror stories about people getting bad DAC reports. Anyway had to look at all avenues of oppurtunities. I'm set to start with this Dry Bulk Co., on monday, sounds like a solid co., but always looking for a back-up plan just in case. Hey I enjoyed your website.
