do they tell you what the laod pays, that way you should know your exact pay each week. this way you know if you are shorted or not on your pay, something i have always done is keep track of what i should be paid.

That's good. A new job is always fun. At least for the first couple weeks. Good luck!

Bandits44x make sure to check all your seal numbers and make sure they match your paper work . And get spare pump parts seals etc. and hose bands and ears . Be carefull scapeing chocolate . Some places are a bit challenging to back into , your lucky you don,t have to go to blommers chocolate basement inside the loop in Chicago. I drove for LCL otr , I quit 1 year ago and should have stayed . The customers are pretty decent , bonus is the free candy. The LCL drivers out of E-town make 20.50 per hour , for some runs . They have 13 sp. 460 hp , 70 mph govener. Easter candy should be starting any day , then you,ll be busy. I hear the chocolate freight is really slow right now . HR Ewel is a good outfit you should like it there.

I had read your post regarding HR Ewell with interest as I am just across the river from the Morrisville, Pa terminal, in NJ. We haven't heard from you in a while and were wondering how ya doing. How has your load assignments been? Are you running local, regional or OTR?

You had metioned getting home 2 or 3 times a week in previous posts and I was wondering if this was still the case. What's your average weekly mileage? How is the company treat you and are you still happy there? How's the pay package. Assigned truck?

Have you considered, or is it even an option, of becoming an O/O.

Thanks for any information and I hope that things are going well for you.

After being there for 6 weeks now I have to say I'm pretty happy. I have been to the Morrisville terminal once to drop a trailer. If you've never seen it before it's not much of a terminal. Everyone is a very nice and helpful. You will form a good relationship with your dispatcher because it is a smaller company and you call him for your next assignment, with a company paid for cell phone.

I run regional, but there are some days where I get home the same day. The longest I've ever been out was 3 days. The recruiter will tell you 2-4 days out is normal and you will get a 34 restart when you need it...at home. I have never been asked to run illegal and if you dont have the hours to do a load they will give you one that you can do...no hassle. As far as the miles go...that varies and I haven't paid too much attention to it since I get paid percentage. The work was kind of slow but the last two weeks I worked a lot. The load assignments are great...a lot of our loads on my board come out of a factory 7 miles from the terminal. There the trailers are pre-loaded! You just pull up...drop an empty and grab a loaded trailer and hit the road. We go to the same customers...which makes it nice.

I am not considering becoming an O/O at this time...fuel prices just scare me. But we do take O/O's. I have no idea what their package is like.

Anything else you want to know just ask.

Also, we are assigned trucks. I have a 2000 Mack vision with 700,000 on the clock. It runs good...but I would rather have something nicer. Everyone else has newer tractors...they said it would only be like 6 months or so before I move into something else.
