Who delivers for McDonald's in the Northeast?
Hi,
Does anyone know which company delivers for places like Burger King and Mcdonald's (I know SYGMA does Wendy's) in the northeast? I'm specifically from NYC and interested in the surrounding areas.
Thanks

After looking at their site I guess the only distribution site in the north east is in Rochester,NY. In my area. I thought they were a little more prominent in the north east. Here's another that comes to mind other than the big Mclane, Sysco, Sygma companies... http://www.maines.net/

All the trucks delivering to Mickey D's in the NE that I have seen, had MD Transportation, on the doors.

kimoyo,
seeing that you are from the NYC area, here is a list to start you out if you intrested in foodservice:
AFI-PFG;Elizabeth,NJ(exit 13A off the NJ pike). Runs the area, home daily
Ferraro Foods; Piscataway,NJ(exit 7 off 287) Runs the area, local and regional
Roma Foods;Piscataway,NJ. Can't help here, never dealt with them, just talked to a few of there drivers before and know they deal with alot of Pizza shops.

Thanks Double R,
I should have my CDL by 1/09/08, any suggestions on who would take students. I found the NYC McD's food haulers but they want 2 years experience. Thanks for the links!
Also, I spoke to a few companies and they are saying drivers avg in the mid 60K to 70K. You will work probably 70 hours but is this true? Is that because its the NE?

you can definitely make that amount of money driving (working) for a grocery/food distributor. It's a lot of work, but at least you're home almost everyday, if not everyday, and you make good money. I'm averaging $1200 weekly and this is the slow time of the year.

60k-70k:Once you get a couple years in and get a good paying route. Starting try high 40's to low 50's if your home daily and mid 50's if you run regional.
As for 70 hours a week, I have never even come close to that and I use to go from Pittsburgh to NJ twice a week. Averaged around 54-56 hours a week. Now, if you are on a local route in the area that you live in, it might be close to 70 hours.
As for the two years experience, fill out an app at some of these places and see what happens. Some of them may take you right out of school if the school has a good rep. Foodservice deliver is a hard job and alot of drivers quit after the first week. The company that I work for is part of UPS and requires two years experience BUT they have hired drivers right out of school. We go through drivers like water. It takes the right kind of person to do this job; they got to be CRAZY like me. Four years of foodservice delivery and counting!
Any more questions feel free to ask.
