I'm happy with my pay. It depends on his driving experience. With good experience I would have to say about .37-.38 cpm starting out. Could be more could be less. Half cent raise every 6 months and I think they are still doing the $1000 bonus at your first year anniversary. We are based out of Mondovi,WI with terminals in Atlanta, Indianapolis, Portland Oregon and one in Ontario,CA (near L.A.). We run all 48. Getting to Kentucky and Mass is no problem. The load I did before the one I took home this week was a Washington to Kentucky load. I also went to Boston a few weeks ago.
Yeah some grocery warehouse can be a pain in the ass but I've learned to deal with them most of the time. Once in a while there's one that's totally ridiculous. I just pay the lumper and go back to my truck and relax or sleep. We do many other loads than just loads going to Grocery warehouses. Like beer loads going to the distributors. They unload pretty quick. Pharmaceuticals is another load. There's a place we haul floor tile out of. I've hauled a load of toys before. There's a place near my house I've picked up counter top materials at. Lot's of different loads But yes, food going to grocery warehouses is a big part of it.
