Doesn't sound like they have changed since I left back in '95

As far as the name Lisa....she is the deceased daughter of the original owner of the company Charles Tidwell. I guess that makes Big Jeep on 44's a grave robber.

Lisa Motor Lines was bought by Mike Middleton and MTC in the mid '80's and then by FFE in '88. Since then they have aquired Great Western Express and L&H Transport as well as the stockyards in San Antonio and GW Meat.

I ran for them from '93 - '95. Back then they didn't pay much 27cpm and we ran 2 - 3 log books. When I quit I went home and slept for 3 days straight. It's always been a small family company where you could walk in and sit down next to your fm. FFE's benny's are on par with others.
This is one company that can starve you out if you are not willing to do it like they want you to. Reefer pulling is a hurry up and wait job. Always has been, always will be. The only part that I liked was just running Amarillo, TX to La and back. Occasionally I might get the Hunts Point loads and then goto PA to pick up Hershey's candy bound for Texas.
Man, I miss the smell of that Heshey's whse. :P

Default Terminal Falls

Does anyone know if they have repaired the pavement and steps around their Fort Worth Terminal? When I was there several months ago, there was one lady office employee on crutches from tripping over a messed up walkway, and a rookie driver on her way to the bunkhouse section tripped on a big crack in the cement sidewalk and landed hard on both knees, drawing blood. I think somebody finally gave her a bandaid, after she called out for help. I guess they were afraid of a lawsuit. But no, she just wanted a job. You know?

In orientation in 2006, you had to sign a legal form stating that if the load in the reefer was spoiled in any way because of temperature loss, YOU AGREED YOU were financially responsible for the 40,000 pounds of meat, whatever.

You were also told to buy special thermometers to stick into every pallet as it is being loaded onto the truck. Right.

There are the usual dorky trainers and cooked log books, while the Safety Department signs off on your computer studies, as if that's the real world they care about.

Lisa Motors... a small outfit where they know your name. But they still never say thank you, according to one driver who left as soon as he could.
LOL

I drove for Lisa Motor Lines back in 2001 and they had some unusual operations. Waiting at meat plants was a big rippoff. I loved the hershey to TX runs though. Hershey was mostly drop and hook on both ends if you were dropping off in Granite City,Il. They had a regular produce broker they used in the west coast, but they mostly ran the northeast since hershey was their main customer. After several months I leased on to them as an O/O and was getting good rates on the meat and hershey loads. That started going downhill fast when they started using brokered loads instead of hershey loads to get out of the northeast. I guess they had some trouble with hershey. Their latest O/O pay package was .80cpm plus no reimbursement of reefer fuel pulling their trailer. Good reason to run away. CFM is right about them being a ripoff outfit.

Im also recruiting for them now too. However, I havent got that far in my training yet and gotten any feedback to know much about them. I do know the other recruiters i partner with do hire quite a few drivers for them. So it must not be that bad of a job, because drivers seem to get excited about working for them.
