Smooth is right. There is already a thread going on about Shaffer if you would just look a little bit. You also need to be a little more specific about what it is you want to know.

Hey Headborg, did you have to go with cretes useless zone dispatch system too? I feel for ya.
When I bailed from Crete in August I was heavily recruited by Shaffer but I found something local and part time which is what I really wanted to do. Good luck wherever you end up at!

No for the past 2.5 years....I had to "go with" Shaffer's 2 operations offices- one in York, one in N.K. -----the right hand never knowing what the left is doing...and when you're a York driver entering n.k. zone you're last to be offered out and vice versa. Now, with the consolidation of the two offices in Lincoln...they are go to Zone Dispatch...which I've work for a different company which did that...and the result is same. 0 continuity whenever crossing between different zones, no one keeping track of what the driver/truck needs are...simply put Zone Dispatch is mainly concerned with taking care of the Customer...not the Truck. It's all about "covering the loads" and that's it.

ops: I rarely have had a problem getting a load. By far the longest was 2 days! but that was ok cuz I was at home . There were loads in the area but other drivers were sitting in truck stops so being the nice guy I am I let them take em.Uselly when I send mt call I get a load offer withen 15 minutes or so. |
