Talked to a Melton driver the other day and his average check was 400.00 a week. He said he is only averaging 1800 miles a week. Dont know if that is company wide but that is not much per week.

i know a guy who used to drive for them. I asked him how much would he make; he told me he didn't remember exactly how much he made per week but he said he made 38k that one year he drove for them. You do the math

That's pretty sad. I just cashed my first check hauling gas part time and it was 613 gross, 525.60 take home.

Talked for a long time today with an old friend thats been with Melton a year now. He's making .41 and 50 for tarping. Driving an 07 KW and bringing home 1200 a week. Now ----- you do the math. I got a response today from their recruiter, .37 to start and 40 per tarp and 3-4 weeks out with 3-4 days off. Thats the industry average for OTR, but I really want a dedicated run on I5 so I can be home more often. Guess I'll stay with IDC another 5 months and see whats around local then. Although the flatbed job will get me more active (need to lose some weight), he said the company rule is NO chaining up allowed, you sit and get paid to sit until roads clear up. I like that idea.
