I saw on their site that they offer weekly hometime if you live 50 miles near Nashville Tennesse...Do you know if this is truthful Trucknwoman? I am thinking about submitting an application right now. are they pretty good about getting you home if you have a special requiremnt that requires your attention? Also, what do you know about their lifestyles fleet...7 on 7 off and 14 on 7 off? Kinda curious about that and whether they have many people running it.

Could be.... but CFI is not that great of a company. After 7 years with them, I finally figured out that they are lacking in so many areas.

Default transport america

look at the list of trucking companies

t a states 29 -44 cpm and it does not say if its practical

If you got to pay your 1 year dues take a second look at knight or useless

express

i would have worked for knight if they had let me break my truck and trailer

while on hometime

us express will average you about 2200 miles and you will know what a bad company is like

as their fm are like the guy from t/a described his current fm

after you get a year try crete,

I did in april of 06 and will be there 2 year come this april

I have had my problems

but the miles and the practical pay not rand mcnally discount

have made most of the problems seem reasonable

I believe uturn says a company is like a marriage

and with crete I have found a partner so far

good luck from trk 30306

IMHO, drivers who post the "PM me" stuff for their "Great" company are just looking to nail a recruiting bonus.

I talked to a guy who drove for England who asked me about SNI. I told him the truth, told him to contact recruiting for more info. I didnt give my name, I didnt BS him about anything. Like all companies you take the bad with the good, and thats ALL companies. But I wont play the "my company is the best in the world" BS and the typical "PM ME" for more info nonsense either.

These people are no better than the recruiters they complain about. They dont care about you, they just want some lame assed bonus just becaue you mentioned their name to the recruiter.

If someone thinks their company is so great, post some stats, and tell them to apply to the company.

Default ok my stats at crete

from april 06 to april 07 i did 137k paid practical miles

you get a choice of up to 3 runs if there is plentiful freight

and they are to different areas

I know the slow areas now like dallas and columbus

so I know I will get at least a 12 hour break till my next run

so I dont push to del early there if I am tired

if I am rested I do push to get back into the rotation faster

I have worked 6am to 8pm 98% of the time I have been with crete

as I chose runs that I know are drop and hook

these can be delivered early

and I can get er done

i average 2800-3100 a week
if i dont have a breakdown

maintenance is donce every 15k miles

but you can count on most terminals getting you done within 10 hours of sign in

so you take a drop and hook del that you could del early and you del it on time

and get your maintenance

layover pay starts to accumulate after 12 hours down

if its a breakdown

dont expect to get a couple hours if your maintenace took 14 hrs

as its paid 100 a day broken up in 24 units of 4.20 an hour after you are down 12 hours

ie if you are down 22hours you get 40 bucks

if its 36 you get 100 bucks

layover stops the moment you are released from a shop

I just had this happen to me at freightliner

so this is 1st hand experience

I was down for 2.5 days after my 12 hour point. 3 days total

I will get about 240 in pay

IF i had finished the load i was on and not broke down

I would have had 4100mi that week and 2200 mi the week before so 3150mi average for 2 weeks

and a final note

IF I DO GET A REFERAL BONUS and you give me your mailing address

and phone number

I will cut you a check for 10% of each check I get

ie 50 bucks twice

trk 30306 crete carrier

are those stats good enough for you

I have been with TA for about 6mo now.

The First three months I had an awesome dispatcher that kept me rolling and always had plenty of time to get my loads there in time. Then he quit, and I got a new dispatcher. Totally different now, she is great at getting me a load comming off home time, but after that there are huge gaps between when I deliver to my next load. One day I am driving all day, then after a sleeper break I get up and there isn't another load all day but then I get one assigned to me that I have to run all night, but I have been up all day waiting for a load. I cannot stand this irregular schedule and big gaps. Also, it's really tough to get loads there on time unless you really hustle.

I am in a 2004 freightliner colombia (biggest pos on he road) and it has broken down on me several times and it's this big process getting a different truck.

ALSO, they are logging you throught the quallcom, almost like werner, but you keep a paper log and they compare the readings and even send you your "violoations". No penalties or fines but if you get into an accident, they forward all this to the DOT. I have been logging honestly but every month I get "logs falsification" notices.

Today I come off home time, but I am not sure if I even want to continue.

This is the first I have heard of this. While TA has tossed around the paperless logs they have found werners software to be of total shit and not willing to pay the 10 mil price tag for software that dont work.

Werner openly admits to their paperless log system costing drivers hrs.

But two things

They like most companys do a sort of lotto where your weeks logs are compared to you qualcomm.

The new software they just put in has lots of bugs so dont worry about those notices. Drivers have gotten them when they were on vac for a wk and the truck nvr moved but yet get a letter.

You also need to talk to you FM about your runs. and if that dont work talk to both ur team lead and you term mngr. Just remember to play nice and dont yell or curse your FM.
