Default Covenant seems to be the only one

Due to accidents and a couple of more issues with my license,Covenant seems to be the only company willing to give me another chance. After researching them on this and other sites, the general consensus seems to be to stay very far away from this company. What should I do?Try things out with them or keep trying for a better company.Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

If that's all you can get, then go for it. Unless you have lots of time to look for something else.

never limit your search... you will suprised who hires drivers with blemished records!!!! it might require a little leg work but i might be worth it. Again these companies that i am talking about might not have the best reputation in the world either

I find that the majority of opinions expressed on boards is negative. That is just the nature of people. People are more likely to complain about service rather than complement it. I find it difficult to find positive information on any trucking company from boards.

That being said, I started with Covenant and really liked them. They kept me rolling and were very helpful. Really the only reason I left was because they had a hard time getting me home to So. Utah. If you like running team, you can make a lot of money with them with coast to coast runs. Most of their terminals were nice and clean.

Go with them to establish a year or two of clean, accident and violation free driving. Then you can hire on anywhere.

I would need to know where you live to offer any help. A lot of times the companies might need some information from you that can clear up a cloudy record but the person you are talking to will not put in the time to help. Meaning that if getting you approved takes too much work and they have a quota they will tell you they cannot help you and move on to someone that is easier to get hired.
If you PM me with some info on your driving record. I might be able to offer some advice

My brother works for them at the HQ. Their benefits and hometime are almost exactly as ours. From what he tells me they are about to shift to around 90% teams, and eventually an all team company.

As far as requirements go (For thread starter), just call the recruiting dept and ask them. I know a guy over there named Rusty in recruiting who won't BS you on the accidents issue. He doesn't like wasting time. Just call him and ask. I've done business with him before.

P.S. - If ya have any other questions just PM me. I can ask my brother and he will tell me straight.

Its always a great idea to keep your record clean. Better companies can be real picky.
