Its a bummer,

As much as one may enjoy the freedom of just tooling around the planet in a big truck.

Trucking companies have a way of really making life a chore and a bore.

Its a hard job to get in the industry in first place...and one of the easiest to get permanently bumped out of should something go wrong or show up wrong in the beginning.

I have yet to meet a happy driver in the world of trucking.

No wonder alot of them have high BP...the ones i talk to seem
very angry or disturbed towards the truck company.

I was told that they us easy pass so no toll to collect for.
also that they expect at lest 2500 a week. with lay over pay
from what i have been able to come up with so far is
all of the other companies out there knight seems to be one of the better ones I went with one of the big guys known as J _ H
and all i got was a bunch of lies from the first phone call to the last
some much for the great dedicated runs that taught me a lesson real fast
never did start with them after orientation

:?: Does anyone have an update on this question, I can't find anything, anywhere, that would indcate that the minimum is less than 4 months.

I live in the NW and have an interest in Knight.

well what would a typical 7 days at Knight look like trip wise as far as milage ,and Delivery Eta on those runs ?
Well, I never seen a week under 2700 miles. I had many 3000 mile weeks. My average length of haul was around 900 miles. I ran out of the Indianapolis terminal. Knight is kind of different when it comes to the way they operate. Each terminal run kind of like its own little company. They are a no forced dispatch company and they pay two different ways, you can either have it weekly or after each trip. They use Trans-Flo. My ETA's were decent. I had a few trips where I had more time on them then I needed but I always called the customer and asked if I could deliver early and most time I could. A example of a week I had at Knight went something like this...Picked up a load in Indianapolis and took it to Houston Tx, After delivering in Houston I would go to Suguarland Tx and re-load and take it to Kansas City Mo. After unloading there, I would go to Joplin and pick up a load going to Toledo OH. Something like that.I had a few tight ETA's as well. My only complaint about Knight was sometimes they didn't seem to know where their trailers were. I would have to do some "searching" for trailers every now and them but not that often.

Did you call Phoenix or did you call the closest terminal to you. Try calling other terminals.

I have to agree on this. I too have never been under 2,700-2,800 miles per week in the last year. And that's for a 5 day week, not a seven day week. If I choose to stay out for 7 days I will easily run close to 4,000 miles for the week.

I heard others in the Florida terminal were having trouble getting miles. I don't know personally because I never go down there. As far as the Carlisle terminal it is one of the best for mileage. Indy is pretty good too.
