Default ECM Transport

I did a search on this forum, but wasn't able to get any information on ECM Transport. Does anyone have any information on this company, in terms of pay, mileage, hometime, and overall reputation ? I'm primarily interested in their bulk division, but any info on this company would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are owned by Pitt-Ohio Express. Never see many ads for them hiring in the paper around here.

My dad drove for them a couple years ago for about a year. It seemed to start off ok, but didnt take too long to go down hill, as miles quickly dropped and weekends home (as promised) started to turn into 12-20 hour periods.

He has since went to P&P transport out of NJ, which he was happy with, but they just got bought out by New Century, which seems to be sucking. Shitty stop pay, cant get him out of NJ or Pittsburgh, got to drive 40 miles total for free just to get fuel at New Century yard, cpm pay is from zip code to zip code, and again, weekends are becoming a joke.

Now he's just thinking about buying his own truck...

Why does it seem that all trucking jobs go downhill soon after you start them. I'm running tri-axle dumps on my current gig. It started out great. Instead of putting in 12-14 hour days and commuting 40 miles to work, I was working 8-10 hrs per day, and commuting 1 mile. We were hauling blacktop, which I thoroughly enjoyed. That soon dried up and we jumped to various other runs which seemed to get progressively worse. Right now I am back to commuting 40 miles one way, and working 13-14 hour days.

From a customer standpoint the only thing I really remember about ECM (assuming its the same black-painted-day-cab carrier out of Harrisburg area) was one day we were behing about 12 hours on loading. A lady ECM driver pulled up into the dock (without asking mind you which would have gotten any other driver killed,) got out and demanded her load - when we told her to get bent she stormed out of the office and punched the side of her truck breaking her hand (or at least part of it.) Another driver scheduled felt bad for her and gave her his slot - the poor fool would have been thier 25+ hours if I hadn't snuck him in at 3am.

Doesn't answer your question I know, but I never requested ECM after that fiasco.

All I know is that they are a tri-axle company. I see them alot in Pittsburgh. Never heard anything good or bad about them but never seen a help wanted ad for them either. That could be a good thing. Thye are located right on route 422 right before McConells Mills Park.
