I was told that you do 3 weeks of class then get your cdl then hookyou up with trainer for 4 to 6 weeks. Then I see a post on here that you have to go out with trainer with no cdl after 3to 4 weeks then you take test if you fail you are done.Is this true this is the school in trenton ohio

Bengalman, I don't think any of the company schools would send you out with a trainer withou first training you. It would make no sense and without any training their liability insurance for the company would go through the roof. I've spoken to Millis before and from what I was told, you'd go to Trenton, OH, near Hamilton, OH for training and do several days of range driving before they ever took you out on the highways in the area.

No I don't have a CDL yet either, considering going through SSCC down off of Alum Creek Dr.......would do the weekend classes myself as have a fulltime job now, but love driving and the trucks.....and no, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night either...LOL...

Southern States Community College Truck Driving Academy in Obetz, OH, off of Alum Creek Drive. They have both the 3-week straight through classes or the option of 8-weekend classes. From their info, they teach you everything from singles, to tandem, to buses even, so you probably come out pretty well ready. They also have company recruiters so you'd probably even be able to be ready to go right out of class.

Good luck to you and maybe I'll see you out there...

I believe the process go's as follows:

Step 1: Go through 3 week training at Millis training center.

Step 2: Go home.

Step 3: Trainer will pick you up near your home, and go out with him for a few weeks for on the road training.

Step 4: Go home again.

Step 5: Arrange for trainer to "escort" you to your local DMV to take your driving test to get actual CDL.

Step 6: Get to work.
