Default Watkins Shepard Info

Hi ....Can anyone tell me how W/S is to work for. Looking to drive the western area. Any information on Pay, Miles, Home Time . I haven't read much about them good or bad. Would greatly appreciate any information.

W/S ..... their web site doesn't say what they pay. Anyone have an idea what it is , starting out ??

Never drove for them, but they used to deliver to the furniture store I worked at and their drivers said they were treated good and were content there. They haul a lot of LTL furniture and carpet. Their equipment consist mainly of freightliner columbias and volvos. Whenever I had to speak with their terminal manager in Youngstown she was always polite and professional and the drivers said the same about her. Overall, I would say that they would be a pretty good company to work for.

Thanks YoungZ.W. I'm just checking out some companies. My school recruiter said I should look into W/S . Have received pre hires from KLLM & Gordon pending on graduation.

Do a search for Watkins Shepard, I've posted plenty about them. Good company, no BS, typical pay and lots of drivers who've been there 5+ years.
My biggest gripe to date...last week I had to wait 10 hours for a load

Do the loads on the van side start to slow up this time of the year and through the winter months?

I think almost all freight slows a bit in the end of Nov/Dec, W/S ships primarily paper, carpet, home furnishings so there may not be that much of a slowdown.
