There is some discussion of Melton; just do a search on it.

Never drove for them, but there is a familial relationship between Melton and CFI;

Both companies are, IMHO, clearly a cut above their competition!!

I've never driven for Melton, but my opinion is that they are one of the better flatbed outfits. I've talked with several of their drivers and they all seemed happy with pay, bennies, etc.

They only downside that I ever found with them was that they tend to stay out longer than the other good flatbed companies (Maverick, TMC, Boyd Bros.). Any of these companies will get most drivers home every weekend, Melton offered to get me home every 7-10 days. Then again, that may not be a downside for other folks. Depends on what you're looking for.

I know Melton uses CFI Terminals and drop yards. I think they are closely associated with CFI.

I drove for Melton a few years ago.They are a good company.The only problem that I had was getting home. They like to keep you out.That was a few years ago,could have changed by now.

they will keep you out for as long as you will stay out. you have to give 7 days notice to get hometime. melton is building a terminal in youngstown, oh. they haul freight into sharon,pa all the time. IMO they have to many trucks on the dispatchers. the dispatcher i have has 54 trucks. so she says. but when she is gone, someone else has to pick up the slack and its usually another dispatcher who has her own trucks to worry about. so you get left hanging for hours sometimes. not a bad company. pay is every two weeks. you will get at least 2500 miles per week easily. i let my dispatcher know where i will run and she keeps me there.
