Default Stevens Transport

Can anybody tell me if Stevens Transport is a good company to work for? I'm planning on going to school and this is one of the companies that hire school grads. Would appreciate any information. Thanks

Stevens is hit or miss. Most complaints are about how long they keep you out(5-6 weeks). But I've heard that they are cutting that back and are doing other improvements to boost their image and retention.

I talked to a driver who had gone thru their school and had to work for them for a year or pay back a big fee for tuition and he was not happy. they started him out at .26 cpm and gave him .28 after 6 months. they have nice looking trucks, but he said they are stripped down to the bone. he told me that he had to go down one moutain in 4th gear going 10 mph because their trucks don't even have jake breaks. I would look at a different company.

Actually, the trucks do have jake brakes and cruise control. But, they turn them off for your first 3-6 months solo. They want you to use the transmission to slow the truck down and not depend on the jake brakes.
