Default Any Walmart drivers on this board?

Just curiuos. I have heard they are great to drive for. I might possibly be interested in talking to them and I have heard that you have to talk to one of their drivers to get info to apply. I searched the net and found nothing.

One thing about Wal-Mart you have to have experience and have to have a clean safety record and a clean mvr unlike otr companys they dont just hire anybody but if you do get on with them it is a job you retire from, and then just pray everyday that Swift or Schenider dont take over the tranportation at wal-mart.

Here is what I was told to hire on as a Walmart Private Fleet Driver:

5 yrs accident free driving
NO/0 tickets in the last 3 yrss
Minimum 500,000 verifiable miles.
No more than 2 past employers in the last 3 years.

And then they will consider the application. It usually takes 6 months to a year after all that is verified.

Even that is not written in stone. A guy from my barn got hired on the the DC east of town here with about one year driving experience at Con-Way and Schneider.

He did have something like 15-20 years experience working for an airline; I'm speculating but that could have been a factor.

The DC did just open last year and they are still staffing up.

The Reno/Tahoe area is a very strong sellers market for drivers.

This is the one thing that worrys me about possibly going to work for them in the future.

I would work for them now and that was my previous plan but, over the last handful of years they made their standards even tougher. I qualified by their old standards but, I have to wait a year to a year and a half to meet their new standards. I have the mileage but, I took 9 months off of trucking so, I dont have that 50K in one of those years.
