Just delivered my last load for Crete for awhile. I am taking my truck to the Phoenix terminal next Tuesday.

My 82 year old father has asked me and my brother to go with him on what he is calling his Last Great Vacation back to Illinois and Missouri to visit our relatives there. Will be gone the month of June.

At this time in my life it is more important to spend this time with him than drive around for them.

After I get back we will see where I end up at.

Enjoy you Dad while you still can and get allot of pictures! I think it is very cool that you can do this.

Just do not sit in the grass in Missouri if the chiggers are already out. They loved me.....I did not like them. The fireflys are cool though.

I had forgotten about Chiggers....LOL Its been a long long time since I spent more time than just driving through back there.....I will be seeing cousins of mine I havent seen in 40 years!

Also going to check out the Ozarks area. It is high on my list of places to retire to.

 

Oh I will never forget about the Chiggers! We were in Missouri last June for my in-laws 50th anniversary and they were not out at that time last year but I did not forget about them.

The first time I was there I sat in the grass not knowing about the Chiggers I learned a lesson I will not forget

Darn chiggers (itch/scratch/repeat)! Did ya ever wonder why some people call Missouri "Misery"? Must be due to the chiggers! :mrgreen:

Those darn things are worse than mosquitoes. :shock: And I got my first real taste of humidity when I was there. I did like the fireflies better than our flies though!
