Default ROADRUNNER DAWES

anybody heard anything about this company good or bad? they are a 100% o/o company doing LTL nationwide freight, i received a packet in the mail from them and here ar a few of the details

1. %100 o/o
2. must have own trailer, or can arragne for financing
3.No force dispatch, pick your direction to run
4.you can work directly w/brokers(set up own backhaul loads) even if you run under their authority(still paid weekly)
5.they seem to be alright from what i read.

but i know better than that, i wanna hear from some drivers...........

I looked into them and had a pretty detailed discussion with their recruiter. Straight shooting folks over there but I wasn't overly impressed with the package. The pay is unlike anything I've ever seen. They have a matrix where every lane out of every terminal has its own rate. For instance, Los angeles to Atlanta might pay 1.08 while Atlanta to LA would pay 1.06. It's been a couple of months since I talked to them and I don't have the packet with me so I can't quote exact numbers. The lowest rate on the board was 1.02 and the highest was 1.96 or so. But most of the rates between areas you're most likely to find yourself were between 1.02 and 1.26 or so. I don't remember what the FSC was, something like .24 back in Feb. By my calulations, running their freight you'd probably average somewhere around 1.15-1.20 which isn't worth it pulling your own trailer. However, if you have your own authority it might be worth it to get set up with them and just use them when you need them to augment your other freight.
