Most of the time, as a company driver, the company pays for the fuel.
Occasionally you may run into a company that pays a lot higher cpm wage and the driver will pay for the fuel, but this is rare.
Most companies will issue either a credit card or more common a fuel card, like Comdata, to use to pay for the fuel. A few companies may give a driver checks to pay for the fuel, but once again that is rare. It is very rare for any company anymore to give the driver cash to buy fuel with. With some trucks having 300 gallon fuel capacities and fuel at around $3 a gallon you would have to carry thousands of dollars a week to buy fuel if on a cash basis.
