Well after being off the road for about a month, I've decided to go drive for TransAm. I leave for Olathe(?) Monday for orientation. I'm not looking forward to having to go out with a trainer again (like i did at usx) but since I only have a couple months experience I'll have to.
I'm really excited to get back out on the road. The time at home has been nice, but I miss home other home, too. I think TransAm is a good choice. I've talked to a few drivers, and one drivers wife and everyone has had good things to say. Anyway, I just wanted to take a minute to gab. I enjoy reading other people's happenings.

Hey all I wanted to give a quick update. Tomorrow (Friday) is our last day of orientation. So far I'm pleased. Everything I was told has been true. I think I'm going to be happy here.
I tell all of you newbies looking for a company. Say to hell with Swift, Schnieder and all the other companies that will only start you out around .27 cpm and come here. Starting pay for a student is .30 after 6 months .3005 then another 6 months you're up to .32 cpm

Does TransAm run autoshift trucks? Another student in my CDL class said he believed they had automatics but wasn't 100% sure. Also since they're based in the KC area is a lot of their OTR territory in the midwest/south? I'm in Pittsburgh and I would love a company that I could get a lot of miles running in the midwest/deep south vs. dealing with the northeast/New England.
