Dewercs,

Last year the had test every day at Hemet. They were having a fight with the city over space so double check first.

So now I am waiting to hear from Crete. Should have an answer this week.

Sealord & Useless,
Funny thing about my son, He's saying dad hurry up and go, so in the summer we can cruise the country...

I've been his baseball coach for 5yrs now and don't have to do it now since he's playing in high school now. I figure I can miss a year of his football and baseball games while I'm OTR. The kid he even said Dad, I'm only playing freshman/JV right now, you can miss some of those games, I don't mind, besides mom can record them for you. He's a pretty independent kid..., now we just have to keep him away from the girls and all the problems that comes from having a girlfriend.

As far as CFI goes, my driver went to work for them, I haven't looked at them as I to heard they don't hire students.

I'm thinking that I will pay for my own training and not go the way of swift. I just don't like the idea of getting 300.00 a week for several weeks. I'm leaning towards Watkins &Shepard since they offer 10days out with there trainer and then you get keys to your truck. They also have a terminal in Billings, where we figure to move to in 3yrs...My old boss is driving local and wants me to go OTR for a yr and then come to work with his company until we move to Montana.

Bigmom,
I saw that ad, I even showed it to my wife.... I wonder if he wears a white t-shirt. Are there certain days that the students/reps are at the DMV?

Someone posted to make sure what they offer on the phone or in person for it to to be written into the contract... that's something that I won't forget!

Thank you all....
pb
Independent or not, your boy needs you there. I don't want to squash your dream, but your son needs you more than he says. If you're not prepared to give everything you have for your kids you don't have business having kids in the first place. Think long and hard about what's more important: some extra money, or your kid and the memories you and him will lose when you're not there. It's up to you, man. Just don't sell your kid short.

Thanks Nrvsreck, I hear you....

Just before my dad died he told me his biggest regret was that he never

made time for me or my sister as we grew up. He asked that I not do

the same with my son. I haven't until this point, been coaching sports,

going to all events everything.... it's just rough not having

enough money to save for his college and pay bills at the same time.

I figure I can do this OTR for a year and then go local. After he graduates

my wife and I can go team for a few years.....

Actualy they will hire you out of Cali, you have to sign a statement that states that they cannot guarentee you'll get home as requested, I believe they have a 5 day window for getting drivers home time when requested, call Christine at 1-800-641-4748 she can answer your "Q"s

I wanted to go with them, after searching and viewing the CFI drivers forum, but I was told due to only having 4 1/2 months exp and it was'nt within the last 6 months they would not bring me on until I get more recent exp... they said you need 6 mos in the last year or 1 year exp.
