Thats funny....we sat 1 hour this morning in seattle and were stacked with a load to winchester Va...2700 miles. That added to the 2500 we just dropped off and that is not a shabby week tootie

We went to yakima and picked up. The load weighs 12000lbs and our fuel miliage is so far 7.7 mpg for the last 1200 miles. (the load we brought out was around 20000lbs.
I know Arrow can sit in WA but we have not ever sat up there for more than 1 day.....unless we want to. tootie

Hey Clint,
I just stumbled onto this thread. Glad to see you got your trucking muse back. Best of luck. Really sorry to hear about Bob. No attack or malice intended, but I wonder if you would do better if you hooked up with a smaller firm or simply work with an O/O? The answer is out there. Nomad

You rock, Tootie! Nice one..... I had a similar week with two trips back-to-back, adding up to a combined mileage of approximately 2800 miles. Then it all went south, in the south <hehe>.
It hardly feels like I've been home since Monday evening. I've caught up on some much-needed rest, laundry and a whole bunch of *exhale* from this past month. My energy is returning, my enthusiasm for flat bedding has been re-kindled and I am very focused on the next part of the journey. I know I love the work; that is for certain. I know that there are several companies out there whom I admire and wish to work for. But as everyone here has said, I need to accumulate miles before I can apply to the better ones, and that is also consistent with what I've been told from the companies which I have called. The next move is a surprising one and I will defer from comment until I have had some time in the seat with them. The plan is to run with them until I have the necessary *current OTR flatbed experience* under my belt. That done, I can begin to weigh my options and plan accordingly. Who knows, this gig might work out well. And at this juncture, I am very amenable to being pleasantly surprised. It has been a challenge to my thinking to "forgive and forget" what happened here. But it has served to settle my mind to the extent that I will not be bringing the past with me as I focus on the present and future of my career. There are many learning experiences which I will carry forward, and my appreciation of them is not lost in the mire of resentment and anger. This is my final post to this thread. And to all who wish to stay in contact, please feel free to PM me. I welcome our continued friendship. And no. I was not joking regarding my Will and the implementation/execution of it. My philosophical viewpoint on the nature of my existence is so vastly removed from anything which would be considered *common*, that to further elaborate here would not suit the purposes of this board. And so: Yet again, I am getting organized. My trusty wagon and I will be heading out this Saturday afternoon and class begins on Monday at 0700 sharp. In wishing myself well, I find I am wishing the same for all who have come through this way........ Best! 8)

Another great diary.
Thanks for the info about arrow. How can they hire a guy like senor x without proper traing??? I see they are now offering a 2000 dollar sign on bonus. Maybe the new immigration laws in Oklahoma will start to weed some of these guys out. Im getting really fed up with the stories of these guys killing families in auto accidents.
