Default Looking for weekend work, comments/recommendations?

Is there any companies out there that will let you run a team/weekend run? I already have a P&D job during the week (no log). I would be able to leave around 10 pm on friday night, and would have to be back Sunday night at 10 pm..

I'm looking to do this twice a month, to save for my new bike I plan to buy in the spring.

I am located in Northwest Indiana-- about 50 miles southeast of Chicago.

Try Swift our buddy used to do weekend runs from Phoenix to Los Angeles. Don't know if they will have anything that will work for you.

I work P&D during the week and weekends I drive for a big hospital in our area. Basically, the job entails shuttling patients and visitors to various locations such as hotels and the airport. It's about 14 hours per week at $15.00\hour which ain't bad especially considering how easy the work is. Figure I gross about $210.00\week and usually get about $25 in cash tips under the table which is nice. The job requires a Class-A CDL with the -P- (passenger) endorsement.

That job is my extra money I use for toys such as a new Alienware PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 (when it comes out). Also pays for all my beer and smokes over the year.

Default "Christmas temps"..

We hire Christmas Temp. drivers everywhere. (and we are hiring now) Large variety of jobs, weekends after hours etc. Also the boys at FedEx ground (contractors-owner/ops) have a lot of casual weekend work.

Some truck dealerships hire part time drivers to shuttle trucks between dealerships.

Many temp agencies have weekend runs for CDL drivers that they need to cover. They will often allow you to call them as late as Thurs. or Fri. to let them know if you are available that weekend. You apply with them as you normally would, tell them what type runs/days you want, they will try to accomodate you. Just be sure you watch your hours as those weekend hours count against your total on your fulltime job. Pay is usually not the greatest but not bad for a second job.
