When I went to school (graduated Jan 06) First Fleet had applications at the school. I asked the instructor about them and he said they use to take grads from the school, but then changed their requirements to 160 hour minimum course, where my school was 150 hour.
I see their site says 2 years for experience, but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and ask if they still take recent grads.

As far as trucks you are right. They are red Volvo's.
The ones around here (east central Indiana) load at a factory in Bluffton, IN called Peyton's and deliver to Kroger's.
