Default WH Transportation

Hi...I was wondering if anyone knows anything about WH Transportation...and what I can expect with training, pay, etc. Is this a good place to start out? I got approved from them today. I was having trouble getting approved for the longest time. I graduated from SAGE a couple of months ago. Thus far, my other option is Swift. Thanks for your input!

I don't have a lot of good things to say about WH. About the only thing I have to say in their favor is that they should be better than Swift. If Virgil Schreiner doesn't get to know you, you should be okay.

madaxeman .... have you even called WH to talk to them about these questions ? ... most recruiters don't tell you everything ... but you should get a good idea of their pay .. what kind of training they do .. and etc.. Most company's will send you information in the mail ... just ask for everything in writing.

I currently drive for them. they are not that bad there are alot worse companys out there. im not otr i run in house haul out of wisconsin so im gauranteed home every weekend and most of the freight i pull besides for plant loads and house loads are for me a non forced dispatch but i harldy ever turn down a load besides if it delivers out to the northeast mainly east of i81 in pa and north of dc. also the training pay i think is 55 dollars a day. from the trainers i talked to, we have some real good guys who train who care more about training than the money

i have been with them for 7 months now, yes we do run a lot of the northeast but overall its really not a bad company, everyones experience is going to be different. they have been getting me good miles and good hometime. the trick to getting miles is always thinking ahead and they will preplan most of the time. they only have dispatch who can actually get u a ld during the day, which i feel is the worst part of the company. pay is good for 1st starting out i think. good luck and if u have any questions email is [email protected]. andrew

Windwalker my husband totally agrees with you! I've never seen a trucking company where the owner doesn't like drivers before! He thinks that the dispatchers make them the money and not the drivers.

No joke....I've been there since November; and to be honest,
I'm not real impressed, but you gotta start somewhere.
The whole system is an unorganized mess. I feel bad for the mechanics, they are short handed and overworked. You can see it in their faces.
General morale amongst all the departments seems low. Nobody seems happy except for a couple of people from what I can see.
I'm currently seeking a job elsewhere.

My husband still has a friend that works there and he talks to him a lot. He just told my husband they are having some serious problems. Tim (safety manager/recruiter) even quit.

truckdriverwh said they preplan most of the time - in the year my husband was with them he was only preplanned 1 time!
