Anyone know what's available for any local runs from TMC in the Queens New York area? I've been out of touch with them for a while and was wondering what they have available for home daily or home every few days. (Similar to the Kearny New Jersey or Buchanan New York runs).

Can't you get on LaFarge dedicated again? Is Owens-Corning a dedicated account? You could always get on Lowe's dedicated out of Westfield, MA and take all the LI and borough runs.Originally Posted by GoldiesPlating

Well Ditto the breakdown here. I ran my truck Sat nite and Sun nite without problems, but last night the temp was only supposed to be 10 degrees above, so I plugged the truck in and called it good. It started fine this morning and I went back inside, went back half an hour later to a truck with a big red puddle underneath that had autoshutdown, I am surprised yours didn't do that Von. So here I sit waiting on Road Repair.Originally Posted by vonSeggern
I am unfortunately broke down and sitting at home watching TV. Because of the -4 temperature I ran the truck last night and when I got to the truck today there was a bunch of coolant all over the place. Luckily the super cold weather kept the coolant free oil temperature very low. So much for 5 loads this week.

I was on the Kearny NJ Owens Corning account and once or twice for the Buchanan, NY account (I forget, was that La Farge?). What's the Lowes account involve? There are exactly 20 Lowes stores within 38 miles of my house.Originally Posted by vonSeggern

I never had the autoshutdown, it just ran all the coolant out and kept running. I won't be able to move until tomorrow. Couldn't get a ride over to the Pete dealer until then. By the time they get it finished there won't be any flippin' loads anyway.Originally Posted by Rawlco

Are you home? I wonder what they will do with you up there in the middle of nowhere. They towed me to the Pete dealer from where I park because it was under warrantee. The load was re-powered last night or this morning. I hope the driver was honest and didn't steal my crap. I guess I will run through the weekend and try to make up for the lost $.

I am at home, the truck is parked in my driveway. TMC is sending someone out from T & W garage in Newport ME to look at the problem. I think it should be a quick fix, but that may be optomistic. Originally Posted by vonSeggern

There is a load in Dixfield ME that I was supposed to pick up before 3pm, I guess that isn't going to happen.

Buchanan NY is a LaFarge wallboard plant.Originally Posted by GoldiesPlating

The Lowe's Distribution center in Westfield, MA has preloaded trailers with a lumber tarp draped over the top. The NYC deliveries are all night deliveries I believe, could be wrong on that. I think you would run two loads per night since it is about 150 miles each way. Most of the guys on that live in the western Mass area, but do not always go home every day. The loads as loaded by the monkeys at Westfield frequently need adjustment for weight balance or ease of load securement, so the drivers do the tarping and securement in the morning as the loads become available and then head out in the evening to make their deliveries. You can drop and hook 24 hours, so you might be able to head up there in the evening after spending the day at home, throw your straps on the first load and go. It would work given an hour for each load at each end, but no more than that. I have never been able to strap and tarp one of those in an hour flat, but it may be possible with more exposure to that type of load when you can tell by looking at a package how sturdy it is and if you will damage it by overtightening the straps.
You would have a sleeper cab probably, at least I have not seen any daycabs on that run.

Well my truck is all fixed now, after installing one twenty five cent frost plug and six gallons of coolant mixture here in my driveway I am ready to head out to deliver in the morning. Not really my chosen method of getting an extra day at home but it works.
