Getting my butt back in a seat?
#1
After six years of both OTR & local driving I left this line of work two years ago and helped my brother startup his own company. Now that he is basically self reliant I am no longer needed so I want to get back to driving. I even have a freshly renewed Class A CDL along with a really good driving record.
Needless to say, I am finding it difficult to get hired on (even here in SoCal) because of my 24 months of 'gap' in my driver's history. If I need to start over with a 'trainer' and/or be out for a month at a time with a co-driver then so be it. I would just like to get my but back in the seat again. Can anyone help me out here?

Quit driving over the road January 2007. CDL A and physical still good through December 2009. Don't know which companies would hire me. Prepared to go out with trainer for refresher. Would like to find a company that can team me up with someone to drive as a team. Good luck to you pal, I hope someone who knows can advise us as to which companies would be interested in us.

Hi Dualqwad and Murph, my name is Ray with Empire Cartage, LLC. If you are still seeking employment we are a motor carrier with our own authority that supplies power to major carriers. We are a small fleet of 8 trucks based in the Dallas, TX area. We have partnered with some majors and pull their trailers and have access to their customer base. We specialize in coast to coast team runs. If this sounds appealing to you follow this link https://intelliapp.driverapponline.com/c/empire_cartage or give us a call at 214 264 9446. Thanks.
