I decided last Dec to get off the road, and get me a local driving job. Guess I could have picked a better area though.
I landed here in South West Florida, where the wages are cheap, and the basic laws don't seem to matter. I got my own self fired yesterday, for having a conversation with another company driver about the possibility of turning in the company I was with for numerous safety violations. It seems that the company thought it was cheaper to replace me, than it was to fix, or replace al; that worn out junk equipment.... Go Figure. Anyone got any ideas about a GOOD job out there? I got 30 years experience, all types of equipment, including Hazmat, doubles, and tanker.
