Hi guys,
I don't understand the differences between the 5x4 and the 5&4, the 13&4, and all the other twin sticks and how to properly shift them. And if you get into a truck that doesn't have a posted shift pattern, how do you tell which tranny it has? If anybody could explain these, I would appreciate it. Thanks much for your help!

I voted for the 13spd because its "almost" a 10 speed if you drive it like a 9, but you can also split the upper gears in the mountains.
2nd choice- 10 speed 8)

18 speed for me, when you have got 72 tons, to move of the line, it sure is nice to be able to split the bottom. When pulling up hill, it's nice to split her up, you only lose two hundred revs instead of four, just my 18 cents

my truck has a super 10.. the mechanic unplugged the auto part ( took him 5 minutes) now it only shifts when I tell it to and I love it.

i prefer the super 10. why??? because it's what came in my truck from factory. just hit 1 mil mi's last week. still original clucth & trans. never any work done to it. i was told the least amount of gears... the least there is to tear up & the least cost to fix, rebuild. e.t.c. i have no idea why my trans has held up this long. though i service it myself & only i drive my truck. this is the 1st & only truck i ever owned..

In 23 years I have driven with all . But recently ( knee replacement ) I started driving an automatic, it was strange, for the first few hundred miles. But it was sure nice to just put it in drive and mash on it ( pushing the clutch only to start and stop ), never thought I would like them, but I said that about the jbh mirrors, now I wouldn't want to drive without them.
