Having heard in the news that several truckers have protested the rising cost of fuel. O/O's, at what price do you think you'll consider a career change, if any?
What do you think the future fuel source should be for big rigs?...

Hasn't this been covered in a number of topics already?

For some reason, people think that truckers are paid a certain rate and must eat any increases in fuel out of their pocket. If fuel goes $6 a gallon, i'll still be profitable. It's called a fuel surcharge.

You are right. Alhough trucking won't dissapear, the companies could shut their doors. We'll still need groceries, tradeshows, and people will still move cross country.
We had it so good for a long while that we didn't plan for the prices to go up like they had, or anticipated the growth in China and other countries having an increased demand for fuels as well.
