I figured Mizzou to lose to Oklahoma but WV losing? Wow! What a mess. If this doesnt bring a playoff system I dont know what will. I guess Ohio State is in but who else? Everyone seems to be leaning toward LSU but they seem a little shaky to me, a couple of lucky wins to go with their two losses. USC? Lost to Stanford, nuff said. Georgia? Good team but cmon you gotta win your own conference. VaTech? Blown out by LSU. Kansas? exposed by Mizzou. Hawaii? I'd be curious to see it but very skeptical. My pick is Oklahoma.

Jackrabbit379 12-01-2007 04:26 PM

Yeah, Georgia lost to Tennessee, and Vandy. Well, it's something if you can lose 2 conference games, and still rank that high. They are a power house....
Might be Oklahoma in there..

On a side note, I am watching Washington, and Hawaii. The Rainbows dont look so hot.

Mr. Ford95 12-02-2007 12:56 AM

VaTech, LSU or OU should be playing OSU for the title. The experts are saying LSU but nobody has any idea what the computers are going to spit out today. The best way to make sure it's one of those 3 teams, the voters need to make sure thay are 2-4 in the polls.

Jack, Georgia doesn't belong over LSU who also has 2 losses but actually won the SEC. Kansas is the same way, they may have just 1 loss but did not win the Big 12.

Big 10 nutcases have to be loving this, they dreamt up the BCS system and lookie there, their champion has backed their way into the Title game.

Never remember a college football season like this one before. Wierd season. Where it stops nobody knows

Mr. Ford95 12-02-2007 05:25 AM

Still early but I'm hearing that VT is still ahead of LSU and OU in the race for #2 in the BCS.

This is the RealTimeRPI ratings:
#1-OSU
#2-Missouri
#3-VT
#4-LSU
#5-WVU

I dont think its backing in. They played 12 games and won their last game against Michigan. Thats the way the schedule played out. If their last game was yesterday and they had to beat Michigan to get in would that be backing in? So then LSU "played in" and didnt back in, even though they blew the no 1 ranking twice? I dont think a loss to a very good Illini team is any less creditable than a loss to Stanford, Colorado, Texas Tech, Pitt, South Carolina or Kentucky, which is who the other contenders lost to. Again, this is the poster child season for a playoff. They can only pick two and they could easily make a case for eight.

Mr. Ford95 12-02-2007 06:12 AM

First polls are out and they mirror one another all the way down to #9.

OSU
LSU
OU
Georgia
VT

The key to the BCS is to lose early and battle back. Lose late and your done, not this year though. That is what I mean by backing in. Say OSU had beat the Illni and then lost to Michigan, they still would have been close enough to be where they are today, backing in. It ain't right but that's the system....

OSU back to #1-wonder how long that'll last-seems to be a jinx this year

Till jan 7th anyway.

As a side note I just watched Les Miles on ESPN and I dont believe him for a minute. I think he'll say anything to win this championship but inside he's a Michigan Man. Trying to have it both ways.

Mr. Ford95 12-02-2007 09:35 PM

Sounded like the ESPN guys wanted OU-VT or USC-OU, well except for Herbie. Mark May really disliked the matchup of LSU-OSU, as he called it, "I do not agree with this matchup, both backed into this game."

Again.

LSU by 30+.

It'll be just like last year when Ohio State played a weak schedule, was completely unprepared, and then got slaughtered by the first REAL team they played all year. And last year's Ohio State team was a hell of a lot better than this years. Oops...I better revise that.

LSU by 50+.

Ha ha ha ha ha
You said you liked Ohio State! Man, with friends like you.....
Red Lobster dinner perhaps?

Twilight Flyer 12-03-2007 09:22 AM

I do like Ohio State. But I like the integrity of the NCAA better. Of course, the LACK of integrity these days is simply mind-boggling.

LSU deserve to be there. They lost 2 games this year and both of those games were lost in triple OT. There is no doubt how good that team is and that they would be a legit team in the championship.

As far as OSU, I simply don't think they're title material this year and they don't deserve to be in the big game. They have played no one, they haven't dealt with the meat grinders that are the SEC and the Big 12. You want a title game?

LSU vs. Oklahoma.

That game would give me chills.

Mr. Ford95 12-03-2007 10:03 AM

Twi, we already had that game, LSU won to split the National Title with USC, I think in 2003. :D

Twilight Flyer 12-03-2007 10:27 AM

LSU vs. the Ohio State that beat Miami 4 years ago would give me chills, too. LSU vs. this year's Ohio State will put me to sleep. No intention of watching it...I'll read on Yahoo sports the next morning how the BCS mangled things again by putting Ohio State on the chopping block. It's gonna be ugly.

Twilight Flyer 12-03-2007 10:28 AM

I hear the scorekeepers are already at the stadium, pushing buttons so they don't fall behind.

Snowman7 12-03-2007 10:36 AM

I absolutley agree Oklahoma is darn good. But they lost to two mediocre teams. That hurts you in the eyes of voters. Hey like I said they had to pick someone. Ohio State is 66-10 over the last five years, 4-1 in bowls including 4 BCS Bowl games and 1 National championship. Oh, and 1 very bad game! That's a pretty good resume. Are other teams also qualified? Absolutely! I guarantee you they will show and play! Again, Red Lobster? How bout it?

Twilight Flyer 12-04-2007 01:11 AM

Red Lobster? $20 gift certificate? Even points?

Midnight Flyer 12-04-2007 02:31 AM

:D I wish Red Lobster still served oysters on the half shell. The ones down here sure don't. 8)

What! Even points? You said we'd lose by 30! Vegas has us a 6 point dog. Gimme 5 and your on!

Twilight Flyer 12-04-2007 10:19 AM

Done.

You got 5 points and OSU. I have LSU and $20 at Red Lobster. :D

Jackrabbit379 12-04-2007 10:24 AM

So, it's LSU vs. OSU for the big one? That blows. :? :P Might be a yawner.

sucker! ( )

Twilight Flyer 12-05-2007 12:36 AM

sucker!
Yes, I believe you can get a sucker for $.25 at the door as you leave. Since you'll be paying for dinner, I can afford a couple of them. 8)

Jackrabbit379 12-05-2007 03:51 AM

I was just now looking at the ESPN website. I just realized that Hawaii came back, and beat Washington, 35-28. That must have been quite a game.

Looks like this year's Rainbows will be an unlucky undefeated team, like Boise State, last year. Utah also went undefeated a few years ago, when Urban Myer was coaching there.
