:D Next weekend it'll be Michigan and Ohio State going at each other and that'll be nothing but a war! 8)

11-11-2007 12:49 AM

The fact that the Illini BEAT Ohio State at the Horseshoe really was not a suprise to me actually. Remember this last year the Illini a 2-7 team lost to them only 17-10 and then this year a much better team came in there and met them score for score and then took the wind out their sails. The Illini dominated the line of scrimage and also forced 3 inteceptions they also had the lead at the half. The Illini had never lost a game leading at the half this year and kept that record intact.

If this comes to fruition I'm quite sure this is the final sign of the apocalypse. I'm going to pop open another beer, my second one, and hug my loved ones. 8)

:D Who did Oregon lose to Scoe? If The Ducks win the national championship it'll have BCS bigwigs crying fowl!

Mr. Ford95 11-11-2007 01:33 AM

Still a lot of football to be played but if Kansas is undefeated and gets the shaft........they still have to get by Mizzou and probably OU in the Big 12 title game.

Cal beat Oregon in week 5. Oregon played well in that game save for a couple of ill timed turnovers and they fumbled the ball into the end zone form about the 6 inch line with about 5 seconds in the game. The play was reviewed and the refs got the call right, the receiver reached for the pylon and was hit and the ball squirted out inside the pylon and out of the end zone, touchback for Cal and the game was over.

They play this Thursday night on national TV down in Tucson against Arizona. They will be heavily favored but they better play tough or the miracle season they are striving for will be lost.

Scoe 11-11-2007 08:43 AM

The 3 major polls are out, the USA today, the AP and the Harris interactive and all 3 of them have LSU as number one and Oregon as number 2.

I'll be really surprised if the BCS isn't exactly the same.

I just pinched myself, and no I'm not dreaming...this could be it, the Ducks could play for the national championship. It appears they will control their own destiny 8)

Scoe 11-11-2007 02:16 PM

It's official. Oregon is number 2 in the BCS poll. Woo Hoo!!

I think Illinois will be in the Hunt for Big Ten champs next year.

That's what the guys on FSN were talking about the other day. Kansas being undefeated. Maybe because they havent played Texas Tech, Oklahoma, nor Texas? Would Kansas be undefeated if they played those 3 teams this year? One of them said something about possibly playing OU in the Big 12 Title game, and seeing what Kansas is actually made of.

Midnight Flyer 11-12-2007 04:19 AM

:D The Kansas-OU title game will be an absolute, certified dandy more on the order of a war istead of a football game. :moose:

Jackrabbit379 11-12-2007 05:08 AM

I bet you're right, Midnight Flyer.

Well, I know it's 2 weeks away. OU still has to play Tech, but what do you think about Bedlam? You think O State will give the Sooners a good game?

:D I think the Sooners can take O State. Stoops has his kids on a roll right now and he said earlier this season that this year's team is the most focused he's seen in a long time. But we still have to remember that the Oregon Ducks are chomping at the bits wanting to get into the BCS title game. I think the best college football is yet to come! 8)

11-15-2007 05:09 AM

Waiting for this Saturday for Michigan Ohio State at the Big House in Ann Arbor. That right there is going to be a war. Both teams are going to be P I S S E D after losing last week. Michigan to Wisconsin and the Buckeyes to the ILLINI at the Horseshoe man that was SWEET for me being an ILLINI fan. Also this probably being Loyld Carl's last home game look for the Wolverrines to be fired up.

:D War is right, Ironeagle! Both Michigan and Ohio State are so evenly matched this one will be hard to call. 8)

Yeah, Bedlam is always a good game. OU is looking good, and O State is usually the heavy underdog, but it always turns out to be a good fight for both teams. 8)

Yes, I agree that the best is yet to come. It's gonna be interesting to see how it all turns out. Myself, I think Kansas should be higher. LSU is tough, and they play in a tough conference, but come on. They have a loss. :P
LSU plays the Hogs, I think. Maybe coach Nuttcase, and his Hogs can whoop em up. Oooo pigs sooeey! :P :D

Midnight Flyer 11-15-2007 08:11 AM

:D I dunno Jackrabbit. The general consensus around these parts is the Hogs have already won all the games they're gonna win this year. Felix Jones is out with a deep thigh bruise (similar to the one that knocked out Peyton Hillis last year) and Dmac can't take all the running punishment by himself. Michael Smith, Jones' backup, is fairly good but has a tendency to fumble at the wrong time. And wide receiver Marcus Monk was pretty banged up after the Tennessee game. Quarterback Casey Dick is good very rarely but most of the time he couldn't hit the sky if you threw him out of an airplane! Both Dmac and Jones will graduate to the NFL this spring. And Nutt will be gone after the season ends, most likely after AD Frank Broyles retires Dec. 31 and the new AD will can him. The only bowl game the Hogs will play in will be the Toilet Bowl! 8)

Jackrabbit379 11-15-2007 08:15 AM

Yeah, the injuries dont help. Funny how all of them got it at once.

I heard that Michael Smith has fumbleitus.

My mom has never liked Frank Broyles. Especially, the Nolan Richardson thing. She thought that Nolan was the best basketball coach Arkansas ever had.

:D Broyles is an egomaniac who has run off some of the best coaches we've ever had, namely Nolan Richardson in basketball and Lou Holtz in football. If anyone gets more PR than Broyles in the athletic department he's gone!

Yep-Probably one the Oldest and Bitter Rivalries in College Football. Records mean nothing in this game.
I don't like the U of M but I hate OSU so Go Blue

Oh Snowman-That's your cue :D

Mr. Ford95 11-15-2007 09:28 PM

Can't say the BCS will screw Oregon this time.......Arizona with the huge upset last night. Oregon lost their Heisman hopeful QB and then lost the game.

mike3fan 11-16-2007 02:35 AM

curse of the #2 ranking strikes again.

11-16-2007 02:41 AM

Who will get BIT NEXT WEEKEND KANSAS better pray they are not #2 for the Big 12 title game.

Jackrabbit379 11-16-2007 02:42 AM

It's crazy. That's for sure. Who knows what will happen next.

Midnight Flyer 11-16-2007 03:06 AM

:D Jackrabbit, U of A chancellor John White said during a Board of Trustees meeting yesterday (Thursday) that he supports Razorback Head Coach Houston Nutt but stopped short of giving Nutta a vote of confidence. New AD Jeff Long only remarked that the main focus right now is supporting the student athletes during their final two games. What is everyone reading into this? Nutt will be history after Jan. 1. 8)

Jackrabbit379 11-16-2007 03:37 AM

Sounds like it, Midnight Flyer. Sounds like the new A.D might be giving Nuttcase the boot, at the end of the season.

Go Blue? Down here its Go Blow!

Should be a great game. I know we're pissed and lookin to take it out on someone. I know they're pissed about losing the last three in a row to us. and rumors are its Lloyd Carr's last year, goona step down. Opens the door for Les Miles.

Scoe: I feel your pain dude. I was rootin for the Ducks.

How did it feel to LOSE to an UNRANKED team AT HOME ON SENIOR DAY. Especially to the ILLINI who had not beaten a #1 team in 52 years. There are 3 teams in Colledge football I love to see lose 1 is Ohio State 2 is Michigan and 3 is Norte Dame. Got to see all 3 lose the same day and I was in heaven. Hard to believe the Irish are 1-9 this year and the best QB left school to transfer to Northern Illinois University.

Ummm, it sucked. But thank god we wont have to worry about that for another 52 years and we'll be back to whoopen your azz on a regular basis!

Actually the Illini played real well. I was impressed. For those of you who arent paying attention they are 9-3 with wins over OSU, Wisc, and Penn State. If I remember right didnt they play Mizzou pretty tough before losing?

11-16-2007 10:48 AM

Yes they did and are now 8-0 if leading going into the half

Scoe 11-16-2007 02:46 PM

OUCH!!

Mr. Ford95 11-16-2007 11:47 PM

Scoe, your signature needs a tweak. That's what the people in Tucson were saying after the game. They were in trouble before Dixon went down, heard that Dixon's season is done, needs knee surgery.

Jackrabbit379 11-17-2007 04:36 AM

Well, my brother-in-law is from Michigan, so I guess, I am rooting for The Blue.

Whoever wins, I hope it's a good one, and not a blow out.

Well, for now, I'm a Buckeye fan each time I run into the Petro here in Toledo, just to get the free food. :P

LOL-smart move

Snowman7 11-17-2007 07:25 AM

Beanie Wells 222 yds! We still got a shot!

yoopr 11-17-2007 12:12 PM

Typical Lloyd Carr game-Henne had a bum wing going into the game and started him anyway until Henne Finally Re-Separated his shoulder for the umpteenth time and Carr Finally takes him out.

Like I said-Not a U of M fan but hope this is Lloyd Carr's last game as coach

Scoe 11-17-2007 01:41 PM

Carr will retire in a press conference tomorrow.

BTW, I'm still not sober after what happened to the Ducks. At leas they didn't beat themselves, they just got hit by the injury bug all season and it caught up to them.

Now I truly know what it takes to win a national championship...great talent AND a great deal of luck. You gotta have both.
