USA v Scotland preview | Sky Sports
Get yourself along to cheer on Scotland "O flower of Scotland When will we see your like again That fought and died for Your wee bit hill and glen And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again The hills are bare now And autumn leaves lie thick and still O'er land that is lost now Which those so dearly held And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again Those days are passed now And in the past they must remain But we can still rise now And be the nation again That stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again"

Ireland. Scotland were thrown in against the Netherlands and Norway so we had little chance of qualification

Maybe I'm crazy but I thought I saw a few top players in the EPL this past season were Scots. Personally I think the EPL is the best of the best, I really feel it's better top to bottom than like La Liga. UEFA seems to agree with my view too. I would think the entire Scottish team would be playing for clubs in the EPL but some seem to stay in the SPL which is good in it's own way.

The EPL is THE place for stars of soccer to earn money, so that's how it has the greatest depth in quality Won't be long before the Chinese league overtakes that position though

Egh, I can nearly count the number of our starting international team players in the EPL on 1 hand. Our Captain wasn't allowed to re-join Everton this year on loan, Donovan that is. I see we have 4 goalie's over there but really only 2 have seen international team action and a midfielder in Dempsey who has been a heck of a player for Fulham.
I've heard that about China, apparently their basketball league has taken off with the arrival of so many NBA players in the last few years, particularly in the Summer/Fall when it looked like the NBA season was not going to happen this year due to the player strike. They have gotten pretty good rather quickly. I would not be surprised if you see more of the top footballer's heading over there since some of those teams can match some of the enormous contracts European teams are putting out. The only question is, are those players willing to play by China rules? A few of the NBA guys found out real quick that the China rules aren't fun to deal with. |
