This is why I have ZERO sympathy for NFL owners and players. The economy is in shambles, especially Minnesota, and they are worried about a "NEW" stadium. Can anybody say "refurbishment"?

The Metrodome is a taxpayer owned stadium in a way and they are asking for the taxpayers to pony up for another stadium? I understand getting a replacement for The Met way back in the day for an indoor stadium. The Met was literally crumbling apart every day. I just don't see why the Metrodome needs replacing when you just replaced the roof. Pay for it out of your own pocket Zigy. I hate the idea of taxpayer's footing the bills for stadium's, the teams or the stadium managing company won't let the taxpayers in unless it's game day and you have a ticket. It's my f-ing stadium that my taxes paid for but your going to say I can't come in?

Figure's, a product of EZU. Unfortunately the Titans may just pay him even more in order to keep him. They have nobody to fill his shoes if he leaves or sits out. He is definitely not worth Peyton Manning money right now.

These professional sports team owners make enough money to build their own stadium. The way it's been going, the taxpayers build a sadium and the owner gets the profits. They get the money from ticket sales, concessions and everything else that makes money while the taxpayers get the bill. If they can't afford to build their own stadium then perhaps they need to stop paying such outrageous salaries to these players and take a paycut themselves. If they want to own a professional sports team then they should be the ones who foot the bill. I could not believe that the politicians in Nashville would agree to build a stadium for the Oilers, now the Titans. We got soaked on that deal. It may bring in revenue in the form of hotel rooms and other things that generate sales tax, but the real money is in ticket sales, TV deals and concessions. The taxpayers get nothing but the bill while the owner and team reap the benefits.

Well, it was the taxpayers that paid for a new stadium for the Milwaukee Brewers a few years back. Of course, they funnelled the money through Miller Brewery, so it had to be named "MILLER STADIUM". The Vikings might have to talk to Coors or Bud...:lol2::cheers::drunk:
opcorn::booze:They do advertise beverages at the games, don't they?
