That's pretty good. She must have a great sense of humor. Both of them actually.

Whadda ya think about the strike Mr.Ford? Think their going to be playin ball?

I could care less either way. Both sides are greedy as far as I'm concerned. I have been a Dolphins fan ever since I can remember and have the knick knaks and apparell to prove it, but I've just about had it. I don't care much for the new ownership group anyway so maybe this was just the dagger I needed to say the heck with it all. I USE to love baseball and the Indians were my team but I was done with them also after their last strike. I watch every once in a while just because but nothing like I did before.

I have pretty much relagated myself to college athletics, (but look at it recently), and the Astro's AAA farm team here in OKC. I LOVE sports, it's a shame that "they" and money have screwed it all up. I know it doesn't bother some folks but it does me.

I'm a Carolina fan so I could careless if they play or not, at least we won't go 1-15 if they don't play.

I think they will strike a deal and do a short season at worst, 8 games and then the playoffs. In 87 they only played 15 games, for 4 weeks the players went on strike, Week 3 to Week 6. Scabs were brought in to play during those weeks. Same thing could happen this time, scabs brought in. IMO, the players have no business asking for even more money. The owners are giving them nice facilities and decent paychecks for the average player yet that's not enough. I can understand the retirement issue they have with the owners but that's it. I hope the owners give nothing up but it's sounding like they are close to a deal now.

I've watched a full baseball game just once in the last 10 years. It was the Greensboro Grasshoppers a few years ago and it was in person. I just find baseball incredibly boring these days. It doesn't help that they play 200 games a year. If they shortened the season way down I think it would bring some excitement and drama back.

The "Greensboro Grasshoppers". That's great:clap: Some of the "Farm" teams have some great names. We're the "OKC Redhawks" It's a great stadium. It's modeled after "The Ballpark at Arlington" we use to be the Rangers AAA team. It's right downtown/Bricktown. It's a great atmospehere and everything you could want to eat or drink is right outside the gate, within walking distance. I usually don't get to see a full game. My son's attention span is about 3 innings.:eek2:

I'm with you as far as the players making enough money. And I agree they should get a better retirement deal. HOWEVER........They came into it knowing full well what they were getting in to. They want to change the rules in the middle of the game.

The owners are just that, owners. Sure they make a boatload of money, but they are the OWNERS!!! I don't know how they made their money, I'm sure some are self made and some had it "handed" down to them, but regardless, it's their team/buisness. They both suck, players and owners.

I've probably said too much already, don't want to get into a pizzin match, just my half-hearted opinion.

I didn't realize Carolina was so bad last year. Is Fox still their coach? Didn't they draft Cam Newton?

Yeah, we finished 2-14. No unfortunately Fox is out in Carolina. It's Ron Riveria now, he was San Diego's Defensive Coord last year. I liked Fox a lot as did the players, problem is that the team wasn't performing anymore. Had 1 great year with a SB run then fell apart. Yes they did draft Newton but I doubt he is ready this year which leads to another problem, we have no QB experience. Clausen and Pike have very little experience themselves. Problem with Newton is that he doesn't play defense. Since letting Peppers leave the D has been horrible, he alone at least made the opposing team change their game plan. Until 2007 he also had Kris Jenkins in the interior so teams had major issue's trying to stop both of them.

The Grasshoppers actually make the games fun and enjoyable, it's mainly for the kids but it's better than the sterile and cold MLB games. They are a single A team for the Marlins. Beauty of a ballpark they have in downtown Greensboro.
