winter classic

anyone else watch the 'winter classic' on new year's day? it was a great game. the redwings vs. the blackhawks. doesn't get much better than that. hockey the way it should be played in the outdoors.
kelly, i honestly didn't think the wings could win after the undisciplined first period. but then they proved why they are the stanely cup champs.

oh yeah,,,, the "come back kids", though Chelios is no puppy as seen by his gray/grey hair in the pregame interview.
It was an awesome event. Did you notice all the snow on the ice in the first period and how the puck didn't slide much? I also noticed a lot of of the players were sticking their skates. I think the conditions improved at the same rate as the Wings! Blackhawks... BOOOOOOOOOOO :hellno:

they finally got their stuff together between periods. bab**** (sp?) must have gave them a good talking to. the wings look good so far. did hasek finally retire? or what?
the hawks are a young team. chicago may get good again. over the years the team has truly sucked the big one.

I know! Jonathan Toews is 20!!!! I have jeans older than that. Young, but might take a minute to get into a good team.
The Wings have had oldies but goodies for years, and the Stanley still comes home

I was stuck in Chicago and decided I would check online for a seat, figuring I could find a single for a decent price. $241 was cheapest and as you could tell on tv it would've been pretty far away. Plenty of seats going for $700+.....ouch I didn't pay anywhere close to that to see a Stanley Cup Final game.
The National anthems and flyover was pretty damn cool. I had the privilege of seeing the Wings play in the old Chicago Stadium and the National anthem there would send chills down your spine.
