Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was sentenced this morning to 23 months in prison for his part in running an illegal dogfighting ring. After apologizing to his family in the courtroom Judge Henry Hudson told Vick he needed to also apologize to the millions of young people "who looked up to you." 8)

Not nearly long OR harsh enough.
Either way, he's through! And that's a good thing. Hopefully, he'll be an example to others that might be tempted to be complete and utter morons. What a complete waste of a life. :? I swear, if I had the kind of talent that someone like Vick had, I'd be Mother-Freaking Theresa!

Anything less than life in prison with two random beatings per day, some electrocution, and perhaps the old plunger trick  is less than satisfactory for me. Also, once a week turn the dogs loose on him in an open field, naked and barefoot. Let him fend for his life. That goes double for my dog.

Yeah, such a waste of talent. That man could have, maybe some day be in the Hall of Fame, but now, he is in another hall.
It's really sad. I actually liked watching him play. Well, I dont know how sincere he was on apologizing to everyone, but I hope that he learned his lesson. I also hope that he has realized now that he made a very bad choice.

Yep, he had soooo much talent and now it's all for nothing. He's just wasted his life.

He will see at least a year from the State, so when he leaves the Federal pen in the summer of 2009, he will go straight into the State pen for at least another year. Once in the State pen, he will be eligible for early release, in the Federal pen, he is not allowed early release.
