[Cnyfence]

I own a fence installation company in upstate NY. One of our trucks recently got pulled over and ticketed for not having a HUT sticker by a local officer. They have been "DOT" trained in past couple years and seem to like to try to give out tickets for the most random and obscure DOT infractions. Anyways, my question is do we need HUT stickers for our trucks. We run one ton flat bed pick up trucks wthat occasionally tow 10k trailers to move skidsteers, etc. I have looked at the HUT site but cant get any real answer from their wording of when a sticker is required. Nothing we do requires a CDL although we do have our DOT numbers, and everything we do is local installations so we have never needed logs or anything. Just hoping someone here being in the actual trucking field would have a better understanding of this and be able to clarify for me. Thanks.
