Default Over width in Ontario

When is an over width permit required in Ontario? I have a load tomorrow that's 9'6"

So does anything over 8'6" require a permit or is there something like strobe lights, flags, and good weather required but no permit?

Ok, from what I read there if I were I hauling logs like I do most days I'd be ok, but since I'm hauling wall sections for a house I need a permit. Guess I'll be driving back roads tomorrow.

You also require city/county/municipal permits as your Ontario permits is only valid for highways that the Province of Ontario maintains. Be very careful about this as the local cops know and understand this.

Ok, well permits were not the worry today, I only went about 20 miles but had straps come off about a dozen times and had the whole load shift to the passenger side by a foot or more, top speed of about 35 mph. What a fun day.
