Okay, LCH.... I finally took the time to check your link. I wanted to see just what you found so easy to understand. It has led to a long but interesting night.

I opened her "attached file" and saved it (in case you want to discuss it,) and spent a few hours trying to decipher her "pigeon English."

But, here's what I found:

(1) one or two mistakes in the explanation of the rules that are not going to affect the discussion, but can be confusing to some.

(2) Little doubt in my mind that this poster (logsRus) is the same person that posted here some time ago as "DAWN." The Rev was brutal to her (as he was with MOST he felt superior to.) She is a "log supervisor" for some company, and has a "recognizable" STYLE of writing and thinking. I'm about 90% sure they are one in the same.

(3) Dawn/ LogRus is usually right about what she is saying, but like so many others, she makes a mistake or two in her interpretation..... but, MORE IMPORTANTLY.... when challenged, she fails to understand the challenge, and replies incorrectly or in a manner that does NOT answer the questions ACCURATELY.

(4) This lack of attention and immedite correction leads to further misunderstanding by her adoring masses that are just trying to figure this CHIT out.... and further confirmations on her part of mistatements that she doesn't understand are WRONG!

(5) As the thread progresses (just as similar ones did on THIS site,) people who THINK they understand the regs "challenge" her. THEY, in turn, are berated by others who think THEY are right. And then someone who is MOSTLY right comes in to set things straight..... but, misses the mark MOSTLY because he misunderstands the questions at hand!

(6) That thread is 12 pages long now. I read 9 pages in.... and was about to tear my hair out! I read the other pages in reverse order and realized that the discussion had died and changed.... with ALL there "thinking" that they now understood AND APPRECIATED the incorrect information they had learned! :hellno:

(7) Even Mythbuster showed up.... and as usual.... misconstrued the question and gave the wrong, and an incorrect, answer! :eek2::rofl:

(8) ONE GUY is showing logbook examples and asking what he is doing wrong. Mythbuster AND Dawn (logsRus) are giving him the WRONG answer... because they don't UNDERSTAND his questions! I am about to have a friggin COW here! :eek2:issedoff:

I don't know whether to join the site and blow this thread to smitherenes.... or just drink another beer and accept the fact that MOST truckers don't "get it" about these rules.... and the others just don't CARE! :hellno:

My only allegiance is to CAD.... though, I'm feeling a bit unappreciated these days. YOU said you have learned alot from THAT explanation.... and that makes me worry about you. (that was a jole.) But, if YOU feel you have learned it all from THAT thread... far be it from ME to "enlighten" you.

I have all but given up.

Hobo

Default Log Book Rules

This is a website I found so I could learn the new regulations since I haven't been required to do log books since the new rule came out. Now I am thinking about an OTR job so I wanted to study the rules before I actually apply for a job. I guess I am kind of anal that way. I just like to not sound stupid when I go talk to a potential employer.

This sight in my opinion give out good examples and also shows you actual log book situations that you can test yourself on before reading the answer.

I hope I paste the link right.
