Default Report truck accident to personal auto insurance??

I tried searching for this info with no luck.

I hit some black ice last week that resulted in my truck jackknifing off into a ditch. This was a company vehicle for a small local carrier and his insurance covered everything. Police came out and made a report and I was issued a ticket for inability to control the vehicle.

My question is, do I have to let my personal auto insurance company know about this asap or will they just find out when they go to renew my coverage in a few months. It's been 3 years since driving school and I can't remember what the rule is on this.

Thanks

You don't need to report this to your insurance.

From everything that I've been able to gather, when it comes to accidents, what happens in the truck stays in the truck, and what happens in an auto stays in the auto.
Every auto insurance company I've ever had doesn't consider work related accidents when determining my rates. The same would hold true for truck insurance. The only line that crosses are tickets.
