Well, you're up front with it. Pay it and forget about it, if you haven't had anything else. It will probably show up on your MVR as an FTO charge, probably 0 - 2 points. FTO is Failure to Obey...it's minor. But make CERTAIN your company does their part because the last thing you need to happen is for it to turn into a failure to pay and then a suspension.

I get them from time to time in NYC in my car. I know they mail me the ticket, but it is no points only a fine. They cant prove who was driving. I know they send me 2 photos of my car and a close up of my licence plate. I dont know if you could argue this in a truck though, because it is assigned to you. You think the red light cam is bad, I read that NYC is trying the same thing with a scale. They are going to put scale in the road, and if your heavy they mail you a ticket. Dont know where I read that though.

That would be pretty hard to pull off. Especially while in motion.

What would be the problem? We've had weight-in-motion scales for years.

But they are not completely accurate either. That's why they pull you in on the platform scale at the chicken house. I've been pulled in by WIM scales all the time in LA and never once got a ticket once they put me on the platform.

WIM can give a good estimate, but that's all it is.

There are many reasons they will pull you in besides a scale reading. Weight is just one.

I've also been over-weight (permitted loads) and crossed weight-in-motion scales and not been red lighted.

I almost alway use to get red lighted on the one west of St. Louis and was normally empty. After about a year of being flagged in I went in the office and ask and they said their system was set-up to flagged every so many trucks regardless of the weight-in-motion scale reading.

I would agree at the present time most weight-in-motion scales are not accurate enough to write tickets. Plus they have not been certified.

Back to the original topic my girlfriend's daughter received a "red light camera ticket" out of Dallas. On the notification letter it plainly stated that due to federal law, the violation would not appear on your MVR.

I have run through Hannibal and was curious if anyone ever received a ticket for running the lights. Did you completely run the light, or were you partially through the intersection when it changed? Was the photo of just your front license plate or the rear also? I am curious because I have been in intersection when light changed, with the power unit just crossing intersection when light changed. No ticket though (YET).
