Default Does someone know these rules?

I have tried to ask this to DOT people and no one gives me a straight answer or passes me on to someone else.

I have a semi and 48 ft van to haul our pulling tractor.

I live in SD and it is licensed here. I will go into other states mostly IA.

This is licensed as private and will never be used for commercial use. I am also licensed under 54K lbs.

Do I need any "not for hire" or "private" decals or DOT #'s?

This is used for a hobby only.

Thanks.

I believe you need both.

Are there entry fees? Prize money? If so commerce is involved and a US DOT number as a private not for hire company.

www.fmcsa.dot.gov or www.safersys.org

Be safe.
