Yes. First soloed 2 June, 1970. Not current since it costs over $100 per hour to rent a Cessna 172. So I fly with my rich buddies who can afford it! Just the fuel is over $4.50 gal! Back then it was around
$1.50 37 years ago. And I thought back then, "Harumph! Ain't no way I would pay $2.00 for gas! HA!

RR
never did like the 172, underpowered. It is a nice 2 PERSON airplane, I guess. I have 400 or so hours in my grandpa's 182 and 206. I am the recent new owner of a Van's Aircraft RV-6. Little bitty 2 seater with an IO-360. Only over powered plane I've ever flown. I bought it from the guy that built the kit and it is awesome, Ray. 212 mph at 100% power, 160-170 mph cruise at 60% and 6 gallons per hour certified for car gas. Not bad for a fixed gear airplane!!! Kinda squirly in a crosswind, though.
