That was my mistake-I tried to respond to your post and clicked the wrong button-Sorry-I fixed it.

I used to run across the desert all the time and never had a problem with blow outs because of heat but it's pretty mandatory you keep em equally inflated.

Run across I-80 in Northern Nevada with all the ruts in the road if you're running Radials on your steers it will feel like you're driving on Ice even though it may be over 100 outside.

No worries. I've done it myself a time or two (not here, ofcourse). Another deficiency of phpBB (doesn't display who last edited, and when). :P

thanks guys for all the info ....i was away on the road so it took me some time to absorb .... so far it has been established that it is a good practice to check the tire conditions and pressure with a tire thumper ,actually i picked this habbit by seeing a lot of guys doing this on the Rest Areas so i just followed suit... i run team with my brother now my problem is that, do i have to log it in my book?, as it takes away precious time on the road as sometime i log it, sometimes i combine it with a fuel stop, and some times i just skip it ..... i have been inspected at scales a couple of times so far np .... i just do not want to be in a situation where i have no answers for them......... so please help out

Yes - it is considered an inspection, and is ON DUTY (not driving) time. If it takes less than 15 minutes, it can be flagged.

I check them over everytime I pull into a rest area, everytime I stop for the night, hell, everytime I get out of the truck almost. Not tire preasures, I do that seradicaly throughout the week but the tire condodtion gets checked constantly. I probably check them more than the recomendations.

Default Tire Check

Just depends on the person and the weather. I only stop a few times if the weather is hot and I have a heavy load. Other than that I just driver till I have to stop to fuel then do all total check

happy holidays
